Fun Fest is an annual festival (family oriented) in Kingsport, TN that brings in around 180,000 people. It's always launched by a Mardi Grasevent (securing a place to put a booth downtown and pass out beads) and parade downtown. There is also a Taste of the Tri-Cities, which is well attended and is located on public property. Additionally, the festival is ended with a concert series which includes Huey Lewis this year. We have an opportunity to recruit new members and gain signatures for ballot access petitions. We need as many volunteers we can muster for this one.
Just received word from a downtown Kingsport business owner that we can set a booth up on his property during the Mardi Gras celebration at Fun Fest (14 July) to obtain ballot access signatures and hand out beads. I did agree not to hand out any "political" information on his property, so we can easily walk onto the sidewalk or up and down the street to disburse. We can wear our LP tshirts too. Anyone on board to helping us get some signatures and new members? Let me know! Also accepting donations for a banner to put on our table and use in the parade.
